OVER THE 20,000GBP MARK!!!!

OH ... MY ... GAWSH!!!

THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!!

Once again my friends & family have raised the bar. First my Dad invites me over the Mauritius where he has been in retirement for 20 years now to have a holiday. Totally glorious, hanging with him, my step mum and my lovely lil' brother and sister in the paradise that it is.

Then I hear that my half nephew Louis has raised over 600 pounds for my fund... LEGEND! Great work Louis... am so honoured! Then just this week I received the payment of funds raised from a club event held in my honour at Module in Tokyo.

Over 1600GBP the total raised!!! so, we finally made the 20,000 pounds mark & far exceeded it now... that is one serious achievement...

AND ITS ALL DOWN TO YOU ALL!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Josh, Conoley, Craig, Bob, JZ, and all other supporting djs, performers and punters who came to support me!! A massive & well needed boost as I have used over 14,000GBP so far for my treatment since August. Almost as much of an achievement as raising it ... crikey... where has it all gone??? Mostly inside my cells I guess .. they must be very happy (I know I am!!!). Let's hope the scan in December will give us something to really smile about... I dont expect much at this stage but some small indications at least that the lung tumours are starting to disappear would be nice...

ONCE AGAIN this is one seriously Happy Dave!
I WILL beat this thing...

* * *

The kind words Josh wrote about me for this event follow. As my Dad & I agreed, the things we do we certainly dont for recognition - as Mother Theresa once said: 'The miracle isnt that we do these things but that we LOVE to do them!' - BUT it sure is nice!!! ...

''Dave Twomey has been an important part of the electronic music scene in Japan. His passion, love for music, support and dedication have helped to fuel the scene with positivity. As Dave has given so much to us, it is time for us to give back to him. "Say Yes to Life" is a benefit event, to be held at module on 11/19, which will support Dave and his fight to live. Not only will all proceeds be donated to Dave, we hope all of you will come with friends and dance the night away sending positive energy to Dave. Please join us for a special night of music and friends in support of Dave Twomey.''

''日本のエレクトロニックミュージックシーンで精力的に活動してきたDave Twomey。11月19日moduleにて開催される"Say Yes to Life"は音楽に対する情熱と愛情をシーンにそそぎ込んできたDaveへの恩返しのイベントとして、闘病中の彼を応援するために、全ての収益を寄付します。Dave Twomeyのために、大勢の仲間が集う一夜に、是非ご参加ください。''

Update: Toxic s*@t!

I am ok ... phew. Tired this morning though. Struggling with sleep and digestion these last few months. I think I have had slept through the night about 4 times in the last 2 or 3 months. Lucky I dont go to work (though I do volunteer sometimes at the local Age Concern Centre)! Am still busy with my daily ozone/hyperthermia sessions (seems to be getting hotter and hotter!!!) combined with half an hour of comedy to distract me from the heat. Laughing is key my doc at the clinic says so if anyone has any files on their hard sics they wana burn to disc for me would be much appreciated. My address is 4 chater court, walmer, kent, ct147xr UK. Also keeping up on my supplements, visits to Brighton (thanks for accompanying me the last time Anne-Marie!), running, yoga, tai chi, chi gung, etc as well as categorically ignoring the advice of a supposed healer in brighton at a dojo in Brighton who said exercise at home on own was a 'waste of time'. I told him where to go trust me... just goes to show not every doctor/healer is good for you - you also have to know when to say NO!!! Negative energy AAAOOOUT!!!

Got back from my September trip a week ago: home to Bristol for Penny Brohm cancer care course & to see my old friend Jonny

(with friend Jonny from Uni - weather was amazing!)
then Devon for my old uni friend Rob's Royal Marine wedding then to the ashram for a week incuding a course on the Mandukya Upanishad (heavy but fascinating stuff) finally dropping down south via the Brecon beacons & then Stonehenge to Brighton for more vitamin C...phew!

Good to be back on terra firma proper (though the ground is not far away from my badass (ironic) car-cum-stapler (thanks Jonny!). hell of a lot of miles covered with all my gear in the back but a very positive trip (I almost wrote 'tour' - force of habit!). Got into some pretty esoteric stuff at the ashram ('reality is a circle whose centre is everywhere & circumference is nowwhere' - nice!), as well as a mini drama ('there is NO fish at the ashram'! honest mistake but o, foolish me) and some very positive yoga and chanting (reminds me of singing hymns at school except the words are so much more profound, oh and I actually enjoy it now!) and of course some so-called selfless work. I cook every day now at home (sometimes twice or thrice a day) so was fun to help out in the ashram kitchen putting together my indian spice mix's etc. Always a pleasure to be in Rama the gardener's place of work too admiring the rainbow chard 'forest' amongst others! A greens-addict paradise in the polytunnels at this time of year to perfectly compliment the moss paradise it is inside & around the surrounding area of the ashram. From my day down by the river... (more on Facebook)

Other news, am still having an awful lot of trouble with my digestion ... keep smoking people. You might get colon cancer then you can have a botched op which then leads to your having to go to the toilet over 10 times a day for god knows how long! 6 months plus after my colostomy reversal but still ... uuugh... so tired of this shit (sorry to be so literal).

Recommendation from thehighly recommended Peter Hinde. See how we go with these...
Pretty interesting reading. They say discovering this stuff pretty much wiped out counytwide Dysentary from the UK.

http://www.kiki-health.co.uk/products/supplements/Natures_Biotics.asp

Also going to get myself some reiki next week and try some gut focused hypnotherapy. Apparently IBS is so common in the US here is quite a body of research andf work on this...
I will try (almost) anything (i might not tell you about it though!!!).

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti...

UPDATE! Back in Deal (but not from tomorrow)...

Went for bike ride and swim already this mornin... now watching the rugby. Weather has been glorious ... Back on retreat next couple of weeks plus friends wedding in Devon. Should be good... Excited to go on bit of a road trip in west country. Am very skinny right now (57.8kg last time I weighed!) but i feel amazing. Some incredible pics from Deal (my hometown) this last weekend...

Fittest i have been since i was in the rugby team at prep school when i was 13! Long time ago. Plus vitamin c high dose def giving me some mad energy... Lets hope it is giving the tumours a hard time too! Really hoping scan at end of November will show some stability of disease finally. At moment lung disease is marching on slowly but not without threat. according to last scan at least ...scary but just try to keep moving forward and not taking too seriously what my oncologist says. Her prognosis is just so depressing and just shows how limited the  conventional response is. Chemo or nothing! Rubbish...

So much to think about, or feel more like. Too much thinking never helped anyone if you ask me, its my intuition i am trying to tap into. Private yoga classes with the wonderful Loretta, acupuncture, etc all helping. Really learn what my body needs when it needs it. workin on that with funds and various treatment i am able to do with it. The home sauna and ozone is feeling AMAZING every morning... this is me in Brighton in 'the tank' (sorry bout the grim face!). The one I have at home is similar but more like a tent... still bloody hot!!!

Some pics from my 3 weeks of treatment in Brighton paid for most generously by some of YOU (see below). Sorry no pics of me being intravenous'd! YUCK!!!

15,000GBP REACHED!!! OMG!!!! (update)

Total flippin' A-MAY-ZING! Thank you all so much for your efforts spreading the word (i take my hat off to social media for the first time, 15,000 pounds in 5 days is just crazy!) & fr all your wonderful donations and messages. Truly touching and I have already been actioning some of the things I wanted to get done treatment wise. I have also ordered the home ozone/hyperthermia kit for the princely sum of 1400GBP (!!!) so I can now do that every day! INCREDIBLE! (throw that evil cancer AWAY!). I recently saw my oncologist with my latest scan which shows the lung tumours still steadily growing (progonisis 3 months to 5 years according to her!) so this money really is becoming more and more essential... chemo alone will not work. even she admitted that. so, here goes...

HOLISTIC TREATMENTS FULL SPEED AHEAD!

The first 3 weeks treatment bill of 6000+ GBP will soon be refunded back to my dear mother sometime very soon from the kind folks at the YesToLife offices using my funds raised (that YOU raised! wow!!!) so that's really just wonderful. Since my diagnosis had to pay for my original privately done scans, early holistic therapies and a private operation to reverse my colostomy (not a fun time, I am still suffering from the repercussions of somewhat) totalling well over 7000GBP plus all the other necessary foods and supplements I have needed thus far, so this rebate for her is a godsend! Thank you all!!! I also now have all the requisite items of equipment for my kitchen of health (thats health not death you ready-meal-lovers!!): masticating juicer, slow cooker, nut grinder, etc and all the organic vegetables (YUM YUM YUM) I can get down me (though I am only allowed the green ones really due to sugar content!). Another big cost the burden of which is now gone is for my daily vitamin c at 7 pounds per day (i take up to 7000mg of the wonderful immune boosting stuff!). I am now on about 40+ pills a day PLUS 40 or so B17 full apricot kernels, 'natures chemotherapy'... hoping this all helps! phew!

Here's some more info about ozone & hyperbaric oxygen therapy (OR here), for your curiosity. I had been going to the MS Therapy centre in Canterbury for some time before starting the ozone at Vision of Hope. Both seems fantastic and there is no doubt at all that the MS Centre (mainly for MS sufferers of course) is an amazing charitable cause that deserves your support for the support and care it gives people with this debilitating disease... I am planning a 'Pamper Day' in Deal for charity sometime soon, and they will be one of the beneficiaries! There are also plans afoot to do some money-raising events around the world. If you can help please drop me a line!!! anything is a help!!!!more on that soon...

COMMENTS POSITIVELY ENCOURAGED!!!

Scan result tomorrow...

I dont have high expectations as these things (vitamin c treatment, etc) take time to take effect but still a bit nervous. always worried the picture my oncologist paints will make me waver in my conviction i am doing the right thing saying no to chemo (for now) ... just HATE going to the hospital these days. each time every single bit of hope i have they seem to manage to crush in seconds... bet she says 'incurable' at least twice AGAIN! they are truly unbelievable... not their fault but the system is just so messed up. so uncaring sometimes... and even the nurses these days arent allowed to get close to the patients to give them what they need to get better or at least be ill with dignity.

only the other day I heard about an 85 year old woman being told she had leukemia, with no relatives there to support her and on the back of several other bad diagnoses she already had over the preceding 10 years. she already knew she was dying and the guy just couldnt resist! what a scumbag...

Rant 01 & a little story to make you laugh or cry

Watch out pioneering doctors, trying to save peoples lives!!!
http://vimeo.com/24821365

This is what the government will do to continue to make money for themselves and their cronies... at any expense. They tried to do the same with Joanna Budwig in Europe, whose simple no-drug protocol has over 90% success rate in her lifetime! This is another story to the one in this inspiring video but its the same the world over - the pharmaceutical companies are  big business, big business controls politics, and of course politics dictates national health policies & spending. no wonder the only research is on chemo, one of if not the most expensive drugs available on the market!

cancer patients be aware. there is a lot more out there than just what 'medical' doctors advise...

this site gave me a huge amount of help!

Went for 'second opinion' at Royal Marsden (top cancer center in the UK allegedly) & all they had to offer were some only 10% chance I am even elegible, miniscule chance of helping, gene-related clinical trials. Classic conversation with moronic gene research worker for which alone made the 3 hour round trip worth while:

Her: Hi, I was told I could take down dome of your details for a possible trial
Me: Ok
Her: So, do you have any history of cancer in your family?
Me: No
Her: So...erm...your ...errr... parents are still alive?
Me: Errr, yeah (like duhhh).
Her: So...erm... no ... And your grandparents?
Me: No. All dead.
Her: And ...erm...no ...errr... cancer ... ? (said very quietly as her obvious stupidity & the futility of this seems to be slowly dawning on her)...
Me: Errrrr (like duuhhhhhhhh). No...
(by now her head is very down and she is quite confused in the most ridiculous fashion, as if somehow she just couldnt help but check I understood the original question but was being incited to my a supernatural power...yet...)
Her: ... and your cousins???...
At this point I think I just spontaneously looked up rolled my eyes... couldnt help myself
Her: (with classic comedic 'look down at clipboard, wiggle clipboard, look up at me then down again') Right... erm... well... I guess thats it then (and she finally upped and walked out)

INCREDIBLE ISN'T IT! This is the kind of person we are trusting UK genetic/cancer research with... WTF!!?!

Beautiful, funky Brighton / vitamin C / FUNDRAISING PAGE ONLINE!

I LOVE BRIGHTON!!! What a fantastic funky, organic-friendly (important when youre not ven allowed some vegetables as they are 'too sugary' - crazy!) & interesting city.

Had my first bio-dynamic egg yesterday... incredible the efforts people are making to be natural (very inspiring)

Damn this stuff is amazing. Highly recommended (though not cheap at around 1GBP a sachet)

Immediately feeling much more alert (when I am not sleeping anyway). Who'd have thought you could take OVER 100g of vitamin c a day... combination of the sachets and the IV. Get that nasty cancer GOOOO!!!

Having the IV 1.5-2 hours per day for the last 2 weeks, but almost done now!!! - always makes me feel progressively crapper (though my left arm doesnt seem to mind the needle so much!) but afternoons in the sun like yesterday (not many) have been glorious, feeling the effects; I even made it into the sea! Lovely!!! The Vision of Hope clinic staff Dr Andre and Ramona are looking after us amazingly anyway...

So, my FUNDRAISING PAGE is online now - thanks so much to the kind folks at Yes To Life for giving me this opportunity & also to Dr Andre for looking over my explanations. Last time I looked was coming up to 2000GBP already! AMAZING!!!

http://www.justgiving.com/dave-twomey

More photos to come... lets hope the sun stays out for my last weekend!

Oh and here you can find some delicious 150% healthy recipes from my nutritionist
http://www.naturalrecipes.co.uk/search_for_recipes.html - she made my week by telling me I can have some raw honey every day. Not much but for a guy with a sweet tooth off sugar entirely its been tough, trust me!!!

The Power Of Now / 'Mind(less)fulness'

Highly recommended book by Eckhart Tolle...

'Thinking too much' as I put it has always been a big problem of mine I think and a bearer of significant stress, which may have been an element in my dis-ease

''(Love and Joy) are inseparable from your natural state of inner connectedness with Being. Glimpses of love and joy or brief moments of deep peace are possible whenever a gap occurs in the stream of thought. For most people, such gaps happen rarely and only accodentally, in moments when the mind is rendered ''speechless'', sometimes triggered by great beauty, extreme physical exertion, or even great danger. Suddenly there is inner stillness. And within that stillness there is a subtle but intense joy, ther is love, there is peace.

Usually such moments are short-lived, as the mind quickly resumes its noise-making acticity which we call thinking. Love joy and peace cannot flourish until you have freed yourself from mind dominance. But they are not what I would call emotions. They lie beyond the emotions on a much deeper level. So you need to become fully conscious of your emotions and be able to feel them before you can feel that which lies beyond them. Emotion literally means ''disturbance''. The word comes from the Latin emovere, meaniong ''to disturb''.

BUY Eckhart Tolle 'The Power Of Now'

I Love Flax Oil / Budwig Protocol

To cure yourself all you need is flax oil, a good healthy diet and lifestyle (follow the link for full info or buy her books) and some cottage cheese (or bee pollen according to my nutritionist who doesnt want me eating dairy) and you are set, according to some. Mix the protein (cottage chees/bee pollen) and the flax oil in the morning and spend the rest of the day relaxing and eating living healthy and youre done pretty much! According to my friend, during the good doctors lifetime she had a 94% success rate in patients she was treating!

BUDWIG PROTOCOL (info)

THE BUDWIG DIET

Flax Oil (though you can find cheaper)

Good luck!!!

Orthodox Vs Holistix!

Having been given my 'incurable' diagnosis back in March 2010, I headed straight to the net on the hunt for alternatives & ideas beyond just chemo, radiotherapy & surgery. This website (Cancer Active) and their ICON magazine have given me access to so much useful information. I urge anyone like me living with cancer to research thoroughly their disease and the myriad of options available to even terminal cancer. Everyone is different. Dont let the so-called medical doctors treat you like youre the same as all their other patients.

This is an overview to taking control of your disease that I found very useful...

Stand Still be Fit - Chi Gung (Energy Works)

I went and saw Master Lam in his UK studio twice from which he gave me an excellent daily practice designed specifically for cancer. He has now moved to US unfortunately for me but lucky you, those living stateside (sorry I dont know where he is based). I had been doing the exercises on YouTube for a year or so but meeting him gave me more motivation to do this beneficial & sometimes invigorating form of exercise (if I do my anti-cancer routine before bed I cant sleep for hours). Good for energy, posture, balance, patience (the hardest part?!), strength, toning and so much more according to the many teachers/professors of Chi Ging around the world and the tens of thousands if not millions (mostly China) who practice it every day.

His channel ''Stand Still Be Fit'' was a channel 4 TV show back in the 90's and he is one of the UK's leading Chi Gung practionioners. Give it a try?
